We are SO excited to launch our new podcast! Acting for Community Theatre (ACT) is a weekly offering by our Artistic Director Barbra French, tailor-made for community theatre actors and directors. Are you missing live theatre? Want to keep your skills sharp and learn some new ones? Or are you keen to get involved but aren’t sure how to get started? Then you are going to love ACT! Barbra will be sharing tips, tricks, stories and techniques to help actors and directors learn all they can about their craft.
Join us Friday nights for each new, bite-sized episode. You can listen right here by clicking the button.
We’re looking forward to sharing these with you!
Spring Shorts is Back by Popular Demand!
This very successful festival/fundraiser for Ladysmith Little Theatre has returned for 2020, even bigger and better than before!
This year, Barbra wanted to mentor new(er) directors as well as actors, giving them the chance to get their work in front of an audience. To facilitate this, she created and taught The Ultimate Directing Workshop last October. Eight directors were paired up with volunteer actors to work on scenes from one-act plays; four of these plays moved on to be produced in their entirety for Spring Shorts 2. We’ve also added an extra show (a Sunday matinee) to the run so we won’t have to turn people away at the door this year. It’s an evening (or afternoon) of laughter, tears, and the love of theatre that you won’t want to miss.
Get your tickets early, as we were totally sold out last year. Call the LLT box office at (250) 924-0658 today!
